Meet The Team
Scilla is a qualified primary school teacher and engineer by profession. She holds a BSc & MSc in Chemistry as well as another BSc in Materials Science from Genoa University in Italy. She worked as researcher at INFM before moving to the UK to complete a PhD in materials research for photovoltaic applications. She worked as Postdoctoral researcher at Cranfield University before moving in Switzerland in 2012 with her family. She founded Little Scientists as she believes passionately in educating kids from an early age in the exciting world of STEM. She is a mother of 3 willing Lego Education guinea pigs. Scilla is fluent in both English and Italian.
Joel is currently doing a master‘s degree in Human Movement Sciences at the ETH Zurich. He has experience tutoring children of primary school as well as secondary school age, and having grown up in Switzerland with British parents he is comfortable in teaching in both English and German.
Ursina is a biology student at the university of Zurich. She loves teaching because she can share her knowledge of science with children. In the past she volunteered as a scout leader for more than 6 years, where she gained plenty of experience in working with kids. Outside university she enjoys sporting activities such as climbing or hiking. Ursina can teach in both German and English
Peter-Julius is a student in Communication and Media Studies at the University of Zurich.
He loves photography, music and sports. He likes working with children as it is varied and exciting, but also fulfilling. Curiosity, discovery and learning are for him very precious tools which children possess as it allows then to develop in different ways! Peter is fluent in both German and English.
Amira is a science enthusiast and Master Student in Mechanical Engineering at ETH. Four years ago she started teaching children, teens and adults in various subjects. She loves working with kids and challenging them in learning science. She can teach classes on both German and English.
